"Your message was deleted without being read" x archive
Hello, We are using Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2007. When our users (not just one user, but all users) receive a message with read receipt request and archive this message to a local PST file (manually or using AutoArchive) without read the message, the sender receive a notification like below: -------------------------------------- Your message To: User A Subject: Message Subject Sent: 8/6/2011 17:18 PM was deleted without being read on 3/12/99 12:18 PM -------------------------------------- I know that it happens because when a message is archived, it's copied to the archive file, then deleted from the server (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/thread/a8064fd7-1ad2-4634-a8c5-e33e21767127). We can create a hub transporte rule to intercept these outgoing notifications, but I'm not sure if it's the best option. Any suggestions are welcome.

1. There was a similar issue with this with exch 2007 sp1 which was fixed. 2. I would use a transport rule if a patch is not avaliable, Sukh

Hi Sukh! Thank you for your answer! Really there is a similar issue with Exchange 2007, and a related issue with Exchange 2003 (looks like a recurring issue on Exchange). Resarching about your tip (Exch 2007 issue) I found this article <http://zahirshahblog.com/2011/05/25/solution-exchange-2010-sp1-email-request-for-read-receipt-is-giving-false-notification-that-your-email-was-deleted-without-being-read-3/>, written a few weeks ago, that explains the problem and suggests a solution. It's really a Exchange 2010 bug, and will be correted with through Exchange Updates. In my case, I will wait a while for the correction through updates. If the problem become critical, I will install the KB on article. If the KB doesn't solve the problem, I will finish the question creating a rule on hub transporte. Once again, many tanks Sukh!
